I'm just popping in here, so forgive me if this has been covered. Rather
than the approach you are using, create a new Group for the items you
want to share. Set the permissions so that only users in the new Group
can read/write whatever folders you specify. Add only the authorized
users to that new Group, remembering of course to add yourself.
