Possible XP Bug

I ran into a strange issue this morning that I suspect might be related to
SP2 although I'm not sure. I installed SP2 a last Friday and had no problems
before this morning.

When I went to logon this morning my computer rebooted within a couple
seconds of logon. I tried safe mode and the computer just hung after logon.
The strange thing was I was able to logon as another user (the domain
administrator in this case) and everything worked fine.

Upon investigating once I was logged in as admin, I found an error in the
event log from the moment I logged on and was an event ID 1003 with the
following data:

Error code 00000024, parameter1 001902fe, parameter2 f118c704, parameter3
f118c400, parameter4 8057a65e.

The MSKB was not very helpful on this error so I looked further. I also
found that the Security Center and Computer Browser services were both
stopped even though they were set to automatic and, when I attempted to start
them manually, both failed immediately.

I was finally able to get back up and running by restoring to a previous
restore point before the problem but I was wondering if anyone else out there
had seen anything similar to this and had any ideas what it was.
