You are mixing up things here.
When you start your computer, the first thing the processor does is read
Instructions off the BIOS (Basic Input Output System). Then it reads the OS
files from the Primary Hard Drive (The BIOS tells the processor where to
look). These are two different entities. So if you are installing a new OS or
are re-installing the OS. its going on the Hard Drive and has nothing to do
with the MotherBoard. You can go to the motherboard vendor site and download
the latest version of BIOS and install it after you have installed the OS.
