Now, I know that if the system clock keeps becoming slower, and slower, that
you probably need to replace the BIOS battery which I have. Now though, it
seems like the computer is "jumping" back 30 minutes about once/hour. As a
result, it is becoming very tedious to have to push the clock back forward.
My question is that should I reset my BIOS settings, or what, and if I do,
what settings, if any, do I need to reset.
Another semi-related problem is that for some reason, my comptuer seems to
"stall" or take longer after inital power-up where my Compaq message
displays before the XP startup message displays. A college classmate
suggested that it may be a virus of some sort, but I've run Spybot S&D,
Adaware SE, and Norton AntiVirus and nothing turns up.
So, are these both related, or what?
