Acronis True Image can do this. It even allows you to create a bootup cd
that boot the system to an acronis shell
so that you can insert the appropiate back up CD for restoration purposes.
Looks like you want to restore the image of an active/system partition; in
which case you might be interested in my boo boo.
I restore the image of the drive C using the back up CD. But before that I
had made some changes to the drive letters of
the other partition. I think I did this a number of times ( I was doing
some troubleshooting you see). Eventually I lost all the data
on all the other partitions. What I am trying to say is : (1) I think
Acronis is a great product. (2) You would want to check out others'
experience with the software. Perhaps some of us here would care to share
their experience / opinion re the product?
