I was confused as to whether or not XP had the entire second drive and
whether the entire second drive was damaged. I found your posts
ambiguous in that respect, which is why I asked for clarification. I
didn't ask why you had created partitions - lots of people do this.
There is no Scandisk in XP. Did you do a Scandisk of the XP partition
from within the ME operating system? Did you do any system maintenance
to the XP partition from within ME? That could cause partition damage.

Virus definitions should be updated once a day at the very least and
spyware removal tools should be run at least once a week. It sounds
like your third partition information has been damaged as far as XP is
concerned. It is not strange that files can be seen from within another
operating system. This is a common way of rescuing data. You might try
running Partition Magic or another partition work program to see what
is happening on the damaged partition. If you do not have the skill to
do this, take the machine to a good local computer repair shop (not a
BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and have them fix it for you.
