Hi, Cindy.

As they say, "That does not compute!"

First you said "keyboard do[es] not work"; then you said "Ctrl+Alt+Delete
does respond". If the computer responds to CAD, then the keyboard is
working, at least minimally.

Which virus scan are you trying to run? Perhaps your problem is with that
program, not with Windows itself.

When you press CAD, do you see the Task Manager? What does it say? What
applications are listed? Do any of them say "Not responding"?

We could go on shooting in the dark here for months. To narrow down the
possible dead ends, could you please tell us SOMETHING about your computer.
So far we don't know the make and model, how much RAM, how many hard
drives...or anything else about it. Remember, you can see it; we can't. We
know NOTHING about it except what you tell us - which is NOTHING so far,
except that it "freezes" during a virus scan with some unidentified
antivirus program. :>(
