Thanks for the input, guys. I did a dskchk last night and after 5 1/2 hours
it told me that the file system was corrupt. I eventually selected Install
Windows XP and had to format my hard drive again. I now have a working
computer but with no icons, very little in the Programs menu of start up and
have to reconfigure my IIS settings to reinstall some of the software I need.
I will attempt a clean install of XP Home tonight but would appreciate it if
anyone could tell me the best way to copy over all of the files on my PC to
my damaged laptop. Would it be best to do it over a network connection? If
I use the File Transfer Wizard, roughly how many CD would I need? Could I
copy over everything (including the OS) from one to the other?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Alan
