Problems after installing XP Pro

I recently reformatted my hard drive and then reinstalled
Windows XP Pro. Everything is fine until I reboot the
computer. It acts like it's the first time I've set it up
everytime. It configures display settings everytime, asks
if I want to register with Microsoft everytime, creates
user accounts everytime, etc. Not only that, but I can't
even install my video and audio drivers correctly. Once I
install my audio driver, I can hear sound until I reboot,
and then it's back to quiet again. With the video driver,
it works once installed, but then rebooted and it
doesn't. But both are under my installed programs list
even after rebooting. I have tried and tried again to fix
this problem. I'm running out of ideas. I thought it was
my BIOS settings, but everything appears to be normal.
Any ideas. Thanks.
