Hi ***,
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
In the right pane, double click Shell and add: "C:\Program Files\Outlook
Express\msimn.exe"
Note: Modify the drive letter for your XP/OE install. If XP/OE is
installed on C:\, it should
read: Explorer.exe, "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
Once done, log off, then log back on.

Hi, again, Kelly. Exactly how do I add it to the Shell in Winlogon? When I double-click on the Shell, it pops open showing "Explorer.exe in the Value Data box? I don't see any ADD button or any intuitively obvious way to add the command to run OE6 at Windows Startup. -- With kindest regards, *** Smith SmithRMS@Comcast.net "Kelly" <kelly@mvps.org> wrote in message news:eA7f%23JRfEHA.2908@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Hi ***, > > Try adding it here: Start/Run/Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon > > In the right pane, double click Shell and add it. > > -- > All the Best, > Kelly > > Microsoft-MVP Windows® XP > 2004 Windows MVP "Winny" Award > > Troubleshooting Windows XP > http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com > > > > > "AA Smith" <SmithRMS@Comcast.net> wrote in message > news:ucW%23j9QfEHA.1656@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > > I've recently tried to setup Outlook Express 6 to load during WinXP Home > > startup by placing a shortcut for Outlook Express 6 in the Startup > > folder > > of > > the Programs sub-folder of the Start Menu folder inside the All Users > > folder > > under Documents and settings. > > > > I even opened Properties of the shortcut and set it to Minimized so the > > program > > would not open full screen on the desktop at Windows Startup.
