Good afternoon Phil,

Its taken me a couple of days to get back to you because I have been jammed
at work on a new web site.

I downloaded the Sp1aexpress.exe and saved it in a dir, XPSP1, on my root
drive. I executed the file and it began the Windows XP Service Pack Wizard
which told me to back up my computer and create a Restore Point. I did this
which was instructive. I then ran the the Service Pack Wizard which took
about twenty minutes and rebooted my machine. I then modfied the
ServicePackSourcePath key per your excellent, clear instructions and rebooted
again. I then tried to install IIS but I got the "Cannot find infocomm.dll"
error again.
I think that we expected the Service Pack file to extract a number of files
to the dir, XPSP1 that I created for the Service Pack. After the Service Pack
Wizard ran there was still only the one file, Sp1aexpress.exe, in the XPSP1
dir.
Parenthetically, during my several attempts to load IIS I accidentally
unloaded my Accessories and Games. I went to Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs, Add/ Remove Window Components, Accessories and Utilities, and made
sure every thing was checked. The component install ran but only the
internet games would install.
I tried it several times unsuccesfully, went to work came back tried it
again and it added Freecell, Solitaire, etc. So I suspect something is goofy
about the Add/Remove Windows Components element.

I really need to get the IIS installed so I can install VB Studio 2003
because I am falling behind in my coursework. Do you have any other ideas?
Should I pony up the $35 for an email incident?
