Hi all,

I have a laptop which does not start the explorer.exe
after logging in. I just get the background picture and
nothing else. I can use ctrl+alt+del and access taskmgr,
which also allows me to run new tasks. Unfortunatley
explorer.exe starts then stops immediately.

I have logged in as another user but the same error
occurs, so i don't think its a profile thing.

Safe mode with networking did not work, neither did last
known good config.

I need to get the data off this laptop, but the network
card is not connecting to the network.

Any ideas how I can either start the machine up or get the
data off it?

I am going to reinstall windows over the top as a last
resort.

Any help would be appreciated!
