of the SP2 windows explorer "issues" or whether this is before he has
tried SP2.
But if we are to believe the people who are blaming most or all of the
problems with SP2 on pre-existing problems then I would think that
suggesting to someone that they try upgrading at this point would be
a recipe for disaster, or at least criticism.
So, to try to be helpful, was this after you installed SP2 or not?
If after then you may be being hit by what has hit many other SP2
users. You can find lots of postings with the same problem.
But if it is before you installed SP2 then you might try to hold off
and see if you can find a solution before perhaps compounding your
problem. To be cautious, you might try Chkdsk first, that would look
at your drive and rule out the chance that you've uncovered some bad
part of the drive or that the directories are mangled. Use that a
little cautiously and see if it finds errors maybe before you try to
fix them with it.
With that information maybe we can figure out what to suggest next.
