Consider yourself lucky ... my entire computer crashed and froze after
installing SP2 (as have MANY others .. read the threads) .. I had to
reformat and re-install ... Grrr !!!

However, regarding your Norton Antivirus ... if you go to their website,
they have a disclaimer that because of the security of their antivirus
programs, the new SP2 will
recognize Norton Antivirus, but it will NOT be able to detect whether it is
working or not ... so there is nothing wrong there. Symantec also said that
they do NOT intend to fix this as it would make it easier for virus writers.

SP2 "is reported" to be slow for a short time after the first boot, for
whatever reason. One of the MVPs made the comment that SP2 is slow but
becomes faster with use. I find SP2 smoother, not faster.
