Task Bar in SP2 Takes up 2 Rows

As soon as I installed SP2 on my XP Pro machine, my task bar doubled in size
and now takes up two rows at the bottom of my screen.

It will not let me make it smaller - 2 rows now seems to be the minimum.

Is there a way round this?
