Hi,

If you like to get rid of Windows Messenger permanently,
you can do it fairly easy. First, go to
Controlpanel>add/remove programs>windows componets. then
un check windows messenger and click install. Once that
is done, go to windows folder then to inf folder (you have
to have show hidden files enabled) edit the sysoc.ini
file. Find msmsgs=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 and
delete the hide only, keep the comma`s. If it doesn`t
read exactly like this no worries, just find the line with
msmsgs in it. save it and go back to add/remove
programs>windows componets you will see windows messenger
under the first one, uncheck that, click on anything else,
but not the check box, to see make sure its unchecked, hit
install again, then go delete the messenger folder in
program files
