Thanks for the reply.

However it is not inactive it is simply not there anymore.

All that you suggestion does is turn of the hide functionality altogether.
Which you don't need to do, if you want to see inactive icons you simple
click
the (<) left pointing arrow button that is next to the systray area.

However as I said a moment ago, it is simply not there anymore.

Anybody have an ideas?
Any MS bods reading this?
