No reboot after SP2 download

This is not a totally uncommon problem. Unfortunately,
the only solution I have found that works is to set your
computer to boot from the CD-ROM drive, put in your
Windows XP or XP SP1 CD, and do a reinstall of the
operating system. Doing a repair doesn't work. Just
remember NOT to install the operating system in a new
folder or you'll have to reinstall all of your application
software, too.
