This has been confirmed by 7 users of SP2.
If you are using Word XP or Word 2003, either stand-alone or as editors for
Outlook, and you have upgraded to SP2 you will discover the following bug:
Open Word XP or Word 2003.
Click View.
Click Toolbars.
Click Web Tools.
Click the Sound icon (bottom left corner of the Web Tools box).
You will get the following error message:
"This object was created in HTMLInlineSoundCtl.
This application is not available to open this object.
Make sure the application is properly installed and that
it has not deleted, removed or renamed."
If you are running with SP1, you will see a dialog box entitled "Background
Sound" and then you'll have entries for browsing for the name of a sound clip
and also a box to enter the number of times you want the sound to "loop."
This ability is no longer available with SP2.
I have VBA enabled in the Office Shared Features for Office 2003.
By the way, if you click on the Movie icon in the Web Tools box (last icon
on the right), you will get a very similar error message. There is
apparently some glitch between SP2 and OLE objects. I'm sure there are more
but because this one is directly related to a Microsoft Office product, I
find it disappointing.
