USB problem after instaling XP Pro SP1

OK i just reloaded windows xp Pro on my desktop and ran windows update, after
installing SP1 for win XP , upon restart my USB mouse no longer works as it
seems my USB ports no longer function. I am assuming the drivers were
overwritten but i cannot seem to figure out how to correct this.
Also.can anyone tell me a way to find out the range of ip addresses a
computer uses so i can configure Nortan interet Security's firewall ?
