While waiting is about all we can do now, since the servers are all stalled
from downloading to a million users at once, there are good reasons to
go ahead and install SP2.

1. It hastens the day that the inevitable transition period will be over.

2. It brings your computer up to the highest level of security as soon as
possible

3. It provides data to the manufacturers about which software doesn't work,
so
those like the OP who are waiting to install it will have a seamless
transition.

As a matter of fact, if you are waiting, you should be encouraging everybody
to go ahead and install. This will break as many apps as possible as fast as
possible. This way the manufacturers can write the fixes as fast as possible
and your waiting period will be as short as possible.

Myself, I installed to 2 computers on Aug 9, built slipstream disks, and
have had no problems. My transition is now over, and I can now amuse myself
by reading all the good reasons to wait to install SP2 on
Microsoft.public.windowsxp.general. Excuse me while I go get a beer.
