Disappearing Cursor

Hello;
One of the users on the network here is having a
problem. When she goes into word, PowerPoint, notepad,
WordPad etc her cursor will not blink, and it will
disappear when she hits the enter key. I have done the
following:
Tested it with two separate accounts and the cursor
blinks fine
installed all Microsoft updates (except SP2(we have not
rolled it out yet))
Installed all Dell updates including mouse drivers
removed her profile and reinstalled the profile (roaming
profiles)
The system is a Dell Inspiron 8600. If anyone has any
ideas as to what is going on here, I would greatly
appreciate the help.
