I posted on here a few days back about my computer
crashing after a reboot from the SP2 update. I'm trying
now to recover from the crash using the XP disc as the
boot disk and using the recovery tool. I know that
chances aren't very good that it'll work, but I want to
try to save the data if I can. When I run this it asks
me which installation of windows I'd like to log in to.
It lists 1: C:\Windows and I don't know what this means,
but I assume I should type in 1 and hit enter. When I do
this it asks me for the administrator password. I tried
the password I set up for my login acct. (I am the
administrator), I tried nothing, I tried admin,
administrator, password... everything I can think of and
none are valid. When I fail 3 times I have to reboot and
go through 5 min. of setup to get back to the password
screen. Is there some default password I'm overlooking,
or what else could this be?
