Wow Steve,
this is quite possibly the most retarded response to my question
1) you missed my point
2) you went for the insult instead of the help .. (very mature)
first off i am far from computer illiterate .. i've been using
computers since i was five years old. had i been computer illiterate i
would have spent hours searching for solutions to my problem .. instead
i went straight to manually configuring my ports to allow file sharing
.. which i knew would fix the problem cause i am quite familiar with
firewalls .. thanx
the point to my post was not " how do i enable file sharing?" .. as you
can see i have no problem .. i was able to enable file sharing.
the point was .. get ready.. i'm about to spell it out
* why does enabling file sharing through windows automated task not do
the job? *

how you could imagine? get a freakin clue buddy .. what do you think
this 'great' new feature that windows has spent ridiculous amounts of
money and time to implement is trying to do .. it's trying to automate
the ability for windows users to open the closed by default ports ..
you start a program and it asks 'do you wanna allow this' .. you say
yes .. done .. port open. why do they do this? i dont know but
apparently they should have seeked your expertise before implementing
it .. cause you believe everything should be done manually. fine .. so
do i .. but dont give me the option to do it automatically if it aint
gonna do it. it just confuses users .. especially windoze users.
