Your second (corrupt) hard drive will be set as slave. You can do this
either by setting the jumpers on the back of the drive to slave or, if it
supports it, 'cable select' With cable select the system selects the drive
according to the connection on the data ribbon, i.e., first data connection
is primary, the second connection - half way down the cable - is slave. Your
'new' drive is already set as the C: drive so windows xp should
automatically boot from that drive so you can then scan your 'slave' drive
for any viruses. However, if the drive is corrupt you may not be able to
scan it at all. You might try chkdsk first to see if the drive has any bad
sectors.
