Greetings.
I have XP Home with SP1 and all updates. Standard DUN connection with
XP firewall enabled, default settings. I run a system level Ad blocker
called "Ad Muncher". At first, I thought it was causing problems, as
when I disabled it, the stall never happened. But if I leave it
enabled, and disable the XP firewall, the stalls never occur either.
By 'stall', I mean that on certain web pages, which start loading
normally, they suddenly stop at some point, the DUN system tray ion
goes dark (except for occasional blips) and successive pages fail to
load. Disconnecting and reconnecting is no help, nor is logging out of
XP and back in - Only a complete restart will correct it.
No viruses, as I verified my AV is up to date, and no unusual
processes running in Task Manager.
Any ideas?
Many thanks, and Happy Trails..
Richard
