2 things:
1) When you say "most" of your hardware, that sounds like
a home-made system. If so, compatibility with future
software may be a crapshoot from the moment of purchase.
2) How old is the hardware? Lots of hardware is available
for sale some time after it's released, which means that
a purchase date of a year ago isn't necessarily
conclusive.
Check with your hardware manufacturer(s) and/or provide a
list of your hardware from Device Manager.
