restoring xp pro error

I am trying to rebuild xp pro and am getting the error "cannot create
folder \windows\fonts".

My system was running fine until Yahoo Messenger updated (security
issue) and I now cannot boot in safe mode (or any other mode). I am
desperate. I downloaded from microsoft the 6 floppy disks so I would
be able to run my xp pro install cd. HELP, PLEASE...
