error 0x80072EE2 when trying to use windows xp udate

I too use Sygate, what I did to get mine to work was to
update the activex control in the manage add-ons under IE.
open ie click tools, manage add-ons, in the "show" field
choose add-ons that have been used by ie, highlight
wuwebcontrol class and click update activex, under the
address bar you will see a message right click it and
choose download or install activex. once this has
completed try to run WU.
