Last night I was installing SP1 for XP and after it had
finished downloading and installing but before I
rebooted, I did a search a on my C: drive for *.tmp and
deleted the results. Then when I went to reboot the
computer will display the windows home edition screen
with the status bar, but then it automatically recycles
the power and starts over. The pc stays in this loop.
If I try safe mode, it runs through some files in the
system32 directory until it gets to mup.sys, then the
same cycle repeats. I have also tried going back to my
last good configuration, but the same thing happens. Is
there anything I can do?
