Running SP2

I downloaded the Network Version of SP2 and saved it in a folder on C drive.
I prepared the system to install and when I click on the file I get the
following error msg:

C:\SP2Network Version\Windows XP-KB8355935-SP2 ENU.exe is not a valid Win32
application.

I can go no further. Do I have to extract this file or what to get it to
install SP2?
