Ignore what "Mark" said. What a maroon! If you are sure that your
computer meets/exceeds the hardware specs for XP you can upgrade. Make
sure you don't have any software installed that would cause a conflict,
like earlier version of Easy CD Creator. The XP cd has Upgrade Advisor
on it and you can run that from within Win98 to make sure everything is
OK. Unplug any peripherals like printers, cameras, scanners, etc. and
reboot with the XP cd (you may need to change your computer's boot
order in the BIOS first).
However, do not count on having no problems. The upgrade might go
beautifully, or it might not. There is no substitute for a current
backup of your data.
