Then a few suggestions/comments:
a. The os you are using *is* beta.
b. Go through the Windows Update troubleshooter, here:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
c. See if there is a newsgroup for the beta os and post there.
d. Post the question to the Windows Update newsgroup. Here is a link to
a list of all the MS newsgroups:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm
Since I don't have a testbed machine with an AMD64 running the MS beta
os, I can't check for you but perhaps someone else will be able to.
