Can someone help me with the following specific problems of compatibility between Win98/Me programs and Windows X ?.

I am using for my profession three programs (Paint Shop version 6, Axum
version 5, Instat version 3) that ran without problem on Windows 95/98/Me
and could also be installed on Windows NT (according to their respective
editors, but I have not tested them in this environment).

When installed on a Windows XP machine, these programs run fine for the
Administrator. But for a user with limited account, I get the following
messages
- for Paint Shop version 6: "Failed to update the System Registry. Please,
try using REGEDIT". If clicking OK, the same message reappears, but if
clicking OK again, the program starts normally !!
- for Axum, the splash screen appears but then a message titled "16 bis
Windows subsystem" pops up with the warning:
"C:\DOCUMEN~2\PAULTU~1\LOCALS\Temp: a temporary file needed for
initilization could not be cerated or be written. Make sure the directoty
path exists; and disk space is available" and presents a button offering to
close. But if I try to close, the splash screen freezes and I need to log
off to have it to diasappear.
- for Instat, the program does not start but I get the message: "This copy
of Instat is for a single user and is already in use".
Now, I can have all three programs running for a user with limited account
if they launch the programme with Administrator priviledges (i.e. if the
shortcut is modified with the "Run with different credentials" box
checked). But I do not want to do this because it means that the password
of the Administrator needs to be known by the users with limited accounts.

Is there any way to modify the permissions at the Registry level or at some
other level in order to make that a user with a limited account can launch
these programs without having to enter the Administrator password. I have
tried at several places (and solved the problem that way for other
programs) but have not been able to find out where to tweak Windows for
these three programs.
