Ok, thanks David, wasn't aware of that. Last time I ran across a pcx file on
a new installation, XP said "huh?", didn't bother trying to assoctiate it to
paint, just installed irfanview (which is far more useful than paint
anyways, I just hadn't gotten around to it)l

Paint still opens pcx files. Just can't save them anymore.
