Hey! I had that same prob. I dont think its the vid card, I have the same one.
What I did was hook my hd as a slave used a different hd as the master and got all my important files off the old hd. AT which point I made my old hd the master, formatted it and re-installed XP. For some reason the master boot record got screwed up and I dont know why. I hope this helped.
