Hi Brian,

As I know, when you use Group Policy Management Console to change the
policy, it will create a folder named C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy (it
is a hidden folder), the policy configuraitons are mostly stored in this
folder. You may copy all files and folders under this folder to the same
location on the other computers. Also, the branch "gPCFunctionalityVersion"
in gpt.ini means the version number. If the version number is larger then
the origonal one. It will apply the policy in the folder again.

For the printer issue, the workaround I thought is to place a shortcut to
the new network printer on the user's desktop. If you have configured the
network printer on the printer server. Users can easily install the printer
by clicking the shortcut. Personally, I think it is not a lot of work to
copy the shortcut to all users' desktop.

Brian, I remember that you have Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP Desktops
in a Workgroup environment. The offical way is to setup a Domain Controller
in the network and add all desktops into the domain. You can use Group
Policy Object and apply these GPO to the OUs in the domain, or publish the
printers into Active Directory. It will be easilier for maintaince.

I hope that that above suggestions will be helpful.

Have a nice day!

| Thank you, this covered MOST of what I want to do, but TWO things...
|
| 1 - Is there a way that I can export or save the settings I make in gpedit
| and import or copy them to the other computers?
|
| 2 - This solution still doesn't address the printer issue. If I make
| changes to the installed printers (when logged in as Administrator), the
| changes don't get made on the user accounts. For example, if I add a
| printer to the network, I have to manually logon as each user and add the
| printer. With 20 computers that need to be setup with 5 - 10 user
accounts
| on each computer, thats a LOT of printer adding that I have to do...
| Any thoughts on this one???
