NTFS is the file system of choice for WinXP.
If you have two hard drives with different rotational speeds then
connect the faster one as Master on the
Primary IDE channel. The slower one should be connected as slave.
Both CD drives should be on the
Secondary IDE channel. Hopefully your OS is on the faster drive.
Motherboards that have a Raid Controller and can give you an extra
two IDE channels for your hard drives
is a real plus at these times.
One benefit I can think of having your Hard Drives as Master on
both Primary and Secondary and your
CD drives as slaves is when you are copying cd to cd. Try different
configurations.
