First, did you try to run that program under XP making it backwards
compatible? Right click the executable (say, program.exe),
Properties/Compatibility/Run this program in compatibility mode for...
/Windows98.
Otherwise:
1. yes
2. no - they are registered in XP etc; if it's OfficeXP it would not run
under W98 anyway.
3. no
4. 1,2,3.
Depending how full your HDD is, you might use some partitioning utility to
create a new partition "on the fly" but it might not work and let you
without any bootable OS. You'll have to format and partition the drive, then
make it dual boot with XP and W98. Most any program you want to run under
W98 must be installed on the W98 parition.
Try to think another solution:
MSVirtual Machine (about $125, free to try), or anything similar, would
allow you to run any OS on top of XP.
An external, bootable HDD/USB Drive with W98 would do as well.
