Sorry for late response. I found the system became extremely slow after I
said "everything is perfect!" and started preparing my dinner... Well,
because I just reinstalled WindowsXP several days ago (senond time), as full
of experiences of installing the sofeware, I decided to reinstall.
As your guess, I installed the ATI driver from the recovery CD coming with
the laptop I purchased, not windows standard VGA driver. Just let you know
the error message which appeared when I tried to install the lastest ATI
driver:
"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current
hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have required
hardware or software."
It was very strange. During my first-time windows reinstallation, in fact, I
installed the lastest ATI driver I downloaded from the offical website
(supposed same as what you gave me), and the driver could reconized the
hardware. Do you think something have been "damaged" and may have not been
recovered even though I have reinstalled WindowsXP?
To cope with the potential "flying objects" in the future, I have installed
the firewalls of "Zone Alarm" and "McAfee", and others like "Spyware
Blaste", "Spyware Guard", "Spybot S&D", and "Ad-aware". Also, the wireless
router I'm using has two standard hardware firewalls. I hope they are enough
for countering future threats.
