MASSIVE PROBLEM...HELP?!

Everytime I try and shut down, log off or switch user I
get a blue screen appear which takes the whole monitor.

It tells me that there has been a serious problem and
windows has been closed to prevent damage.

It tells me to run a memory scan but I can't find a
utility to do this. Defragging and Disk Clean Up makes no
difference.

I'm on the brink of complete wipe out of the hard drive.

Any help would be a life saver.. Thanks
