Tony,
The unchecked [disabled] items in MSCONFIG are present here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]
The enabled ones are be present here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
You may either delete the keys manually, or download a fix from:
Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig Startup [Line 148]

When you run msconfig you can select the STARTUP tab and check or uncheck items that are in that list. My question, which is probably a silly one, is how do you delete items on that list instead of just unchecking them. This way you do not require a selective startup eac time you boot. Somehow, over the years, I missed the trick on how to accomplish this......Thanks for any help....
