As usual your information is WRONG.
Microsoft does not force the OEMs "to BIOS lock their OEM Windows XP
installation disks"
That is one of the many myths perpetuated by the ignorant.
Why do you spread this myth?
BIOS locking is one of many options the OEM are given.
Many OEM choose it as a simple and cheap means to comply with
licensing agreements.
The OEMs could just as easily agree to furnish retail Windows XP with
all the associated benefits...including higher cost.
Cost is a factor as to why the OEMs chose, on behalf of their
customers, the cheaper methods.
The customers often want the cheapest.
The fact not all OEMs choose BIOS locking is the proof of how
incorrect your information here and your site is.
