I recently downloaded some Java source code from the
internet and selected the open option. My IDE started and
the source code was opened with its location being in a
subdirectory of

documents and settings\Joe\Local Settings\temporary
internet files\Content.IE5

The subdirectory was an assortment of uppercase letters
and numbers (My IDE is not opening now so I don't know
exactly what the directory is called.)

When I try to find the directory in Explore, it isn't
there. Actually, the Content.IE5 directory isn't even
there. I opened Excel and tried open file to see if it
found the directories but it didn't even show the local
settings directory.

I am using Windows XP. My java IDE is NetBeans 3.6. I have
tried various combinations of options in the FOlder
Options, View tab but cannot get these items to appear.

I have set up my computer for 2 users. My user name is
Joe. My wife's files appear under Owner. THere are also 4
other "User" directories in the Documents and Settings
directory:

Administrator
Administrator.HP
All Users
Default User

Each of these contain various files and subdirectories.

I have a lot of experience with computers since the DOS
days but have only learned the basics needed to do my work
(mainly Excel.) As such, I never fully understood the
structures of the various Windows Folders, desktops,
networks, shortcuts, etc.

I have a few questions. First, is there a quick and dirty
tutorial or other instruction as to the basic structure
and workings of Windows Folders and Explore? Second, why
are there 6 different "users" under documents and settings
and are they all unique (i.e. does ALL USERS have unique
files or does it just point to other users?) And lastly,
what would cause certain directories and files to appear
in one application (my IDE) and not in others (Explore and
Excel)?

Sorry for the length of this posting. I would appreciate
any help I could get.

Thanks...Joe
