For info NEVER take up offers for anti-spyware software (or any software)
that you see in a pop-up! Chances are it will install other nasty programs
that just give you more pop-ups or worse problems rather than less.

Firstly Update Windows regularly using control panel -> Windows Update.

Download and run the free version of Ad-Aware from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Download and install free Spywareblaster and Spywareguard from
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

If Adaware says you have "webhancer" or "roings" on your PC try going
here...
