The system was working fine when my wife left for work.
When I came home, that is what I found.

I am running Windows XP Home on an AMD Athlon based PC. I
removed the hard drive and put it in another computer and
it had the same reaction. I then made it a secondary
drive, ran scandisk and defragged the drive.

The data on the disk seemed fine, but when it was made to
be the master again, it began the scandisk-reboot cycle
again.
