I am tasked with fixing my bosses' teenager's laptop
computer (Toshiba) which uses AOL dial-up. After cleaning
up the hundreds of spyware issues on it, I am unable to
get out to the internet. The troubleshooter says COM (3)
may not be enabled. When I go into Device Manager under
Ports, all that is listed are LPT ports, no COM ports. Do
I go into bios to enable the COM ports? And is so, how do
I get INTO bios, as the keys I have tried thus far have
not worked, and I don't see any clues during the start up
process that tell how to enter setup.
I realize this may not be a Windows XP Home issue, but any
assistance is greatly appreciated
