Regedit.exe

I ran regedit.exe and went to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/RUN to
delete all the stuff that was there which could be
viruses and trojans, however there is one item named:
(Default), type: REG_SZ, data: (value not set) that
doesn't delete. My PC brings up a message that it is
unable to delete specified values. Is this supposed to
be there or is this some sort of virus refusing to be
deleted, and if it is a virus how do I get rid of it?
I'm currently running Windows XP.

                       Thanks in advance, John.
