My system has been doing that recently as well on SP2 RC2. I have
disabled Autorun which seems to have fixed any problems of locking up.
This is not a good solution though, but it will work in the meantime.
Hopefully you and me both can get a little help here :)

Unfortunately, I think it is the CD/DVD Drive that is causing the
problems and not Windows (at least on my end).
