Could someone please help me determine which recovery
console cmd to use and tell me why I would choose the
command? After I booted, I get the MS screen but no users
come up to log on to; however I can still move my mouse
pointer around. Since I couldn't boot to safe mode, I
booted to the XP installation disk and used the CHKDSK /r
option, which said it fixed something but still couldn't
boot to my hard drive. How do I know if I should use
BOOTCFG or FIXBOOT or FIXMBR or none of these commands? I
saw a lot of scarey stuff using the FIXMBR command on
some news groups. So I guess you only use this as a last
resort? I really don't want to loose anything on my hard
drive.
Thks, Michele
